Economy |
Primarily a subsistence agriculture economy, Rwanda nonetheless produces for export some of he finest tea and coffee in the world. Tourism is also on the rise attracting over 11,000 tourists each year. The country has set up an ambitious agenda of turning into a middle-income nation with per capita GDP of $900 by 2020, up from the current $ 250 in 2004.

Climate |

A combination of tropical and high attitude ensures that most of Rwanda has a temperate year-round climate. Temperatures rarely stray above 30 degrees Celsius by day or below 15 degrees Celsius at night throughout the year.
The exceptional are the chilly upper slopes of the Virunga Mountains and the hot lying Tanzania border area protected in Akagera national park. |
